It seems that almost every little girl loves to play with dolls and as they grow up many of them turn to collecting the dolls they once played with. However some of the more rare handmade porcelain dolls from the mid to late 19th century were made in small cottage type industries in Europe and bear no marks of any kind to help identify who made them and when, yet they are an extremely rare and valuable addition to any collection. Another valuable member of a porcelain dolls collection are the limited run dolls such as those made by many manufacturers for special occasions such as Christmas or particular Royal Coronations that once the last doll was made the mold was destroyed and the doll never made again.
